JVC GZMG670BUS Camcorder Review–A Bit Too Much Camera For Many

It’s kind of a strange idea, to say that a camera might actually offer too many features for a lot of people, but I’m fairly convinced, after my time hands-on with the JVC GZMG670BUS, that this is the case with this model.

The JVC GZMG670BUS is a camcorder with an eighty gig hard drive for shooting video, a 40X dynamic zoom, one touch upload to YouTube and compatibility with SD and SDHD memory cards.

Let’s make one thing perfectly clear from the outset.  Eighty gigs of video is roughly equivalent to twenty DVDs.  If anyone thinks they’re actually going to NEED that kind of storage capacity I challenge them to look, honestly, at their plans for using this.  Especially given that getting the video off the camera itself and onto other devices is almost heart-stoppingly easy.  Chances are you will never even come close to filling this camera’s memory.

Granted, it IS a really good camera, but it comes with a pretty hefty price tag, too–about four hundred thirty bucks at retail.  This is why I say that the JVC GZMG670BUS might be too much camera for a lot of users.
