JVC Mini DV GR-DA30US Review–Spy Cam Extraordinaire
When I first laid hands on the JVC Mini DV GR-DA30US camcorder, I was actually pretty surprised by this tiny camcorder. But the more I tried it out, the more I got to like this little fella.
This one from JVC is a Mini DV camera, which means it takes those little blank DVDs in order to film. It weighs only three pounds and includes improved low-light recording ability, a digital picture stabilizer, a silicon LCD screen and plenty of menu options.
I admit that I was a bit unnerved by the floating rear panel at first, until I realized how useful something like that could be while filming. Just flip down that panel and you can film easily on an angle or by holding the camera straight out. And I was absolutely blown away by the zoom on this one. It was so clear I was actually using it to read small print from several feet away, something that my own Mark One eyeball couldn’t pull off.
So if you’re looking for a good camera with great range, the JVC Mini DV GR-DA30US is a solid model.
