With the Sonys and the Canons hogging the limelight at CES, how could JVC stay behind? The company unveiled their sexy HD Everio GZ-HD7 Hard Drive Camcorder which is also the " World's First Full HD 1920x1080i Consumer Camcorder" and provides full HD 1920x1080i video quality. So bid adieu to removable tapes or discs as one can directly record on the camcorders hard drive.
The JVC GZ-HD7 HD Everio includes a whopping 60GB built-in hard drive and looks like they were in a generous mood as they have added three CCDs, one each for red, green and blue and a Fujinon lens. The camcorder is also capable of five hours of full HD 1920x1080i recording at a high 30Mbps(MAX) Mbps and features a long seven hour SP mode with a resolution of 1440x1080i, and a 1440CBR mode with a resolution of 1440x1080i and a five-hour capacity.
One also comes across now standard features on the GZ-HD7, including, optical image stabilization, manual controls, multiple digital connections, bundled editing and archiving software etc. The user can also archive their footage on Blu-ray discs and then enjoying them back on their home theater systems. The camcorder has been equipped with a Fujinon 10x optical zoom lens and has a f=3.3mm~33mm zoom range and the lens has been coated with a new Electronic Beam Coating (EBC) which helps reducing degradation caused by light reflecting off the lens surfaces.
The JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7 also features a Zebra function, which displays a striped pattern across highlight areas on the image in the LCD monitor which helps in setting the exposure. Other Manual features include; annual focus ring, manual white balance, exposure control, shutter priority mode, aperture priority mode and sharpness control. The camcorder comes bundled with a whole bunch of applications like; PowerDirector for HD video editing, PowerProducer for authoring high definition Blu-ray discs and DVD- Video discs, and PowerCinema for HD file management and playback. The JVC HD Everio GZ-HD7 will be available in April for f $1,799.95.
