Kodak Beau Brownie

While todays digital cameras are fast and efficient they can’t match the looks and style of the Kodak Beau Brownie camera built from 1930- 1931. Designed by art deco architect Walter Dorwin Teague, the Beau Brownie was offered in five different color combinations: Maroon/Black, Light Blue/Medium Blue, Brown/Tan, Rose/Pink, and Green/Aqua Blue. For each color combination, both a No. 2 (2¼ x 3¼ inch pictures on 120 film) and a No. 2A (2½ x 4¼ inches on 116 film) size was available.

The shiny enameled faceplate was it’s most striking feature. Recently a green/aqua blue camera sold on eBay for $356.00. It might be worth crawling around Granny’s attic to see if she has one of these jewels packed away.
