Kodak Slice Camera Review–A New And Exciting Piece

Today’s review target is a strange little model that goes by the equally strange name of the Kodak Slice.  And though the name may sound outlandish, there’s no denying that the Slice is a powerful little camera that brings plenty to the table with it.

The Kodak Slice is a fourteen megapixel camera with a 5x optical zoom and supplementing 5x digital zoom.  It also comes with a 3.5 inch LCD touch screen display, face recognition, a one-touch “share” button for fast uploads to YouTube and Facebook, among others, storage capacity sufficient for about five thousand images, Smart Capture technology that adjusts settings automatically based on conditions, optical image stabilization, a variety of scene and white balance modes, burst shooting mode, panorama mode, auto flash, and direct printing capability.

I don’t remember the last time I saw a touchscreen display that big, frankly.  Nor do I remember a camera that packed all that capability into one simple and easy to use package.  The controls are just fine–that share button is going to make a lot of people happy–and the picture quality should be just fine.

Admittedly, at three hundred dollars out at Best Buy, this is likely to be out of at least a few people’s price range, but it’s got so much to offer it’s hard to not like the Kodak Slice.  I certainly liked it.
