Kodak EasyShare Z710 Review
The new 7.1-megapixel Kodak EasyShare Z710 is another camera to be reviewed by Cnet and this one gets a score of 6/10. The camera is appreciated for its 10X optical zoom lens which didn't produce much distortion. However the Z710 fails to impress overall as it lacks image stabilization, has a top ISO of just 400, LCD is small too and it also suffered from slow performance.
The Kodak EasyShare Z710 has some decent specs on it and one will come across a 10X optical zoom, 7.1 Megapixels image sensor and a SCHNEIDER KREUZNACH VARIOGON lens. One also comes across a 2 inch indoor/outdoor color display and this new feature, which lets one, stored their preferred images on the camera by using the Favorites feature. Via the on-camera Share button one can print, e-mail, and organize pictures by a single click of a button. Some other nifty features found on the camera include cropping, a live histogram, and a capture grid line display.
The review ends by saying "Given this camera's slow performance and limited ISO range, it's hard to recommend it, especially when Kodak has better-performing models in its own line, such as the EasyShare Z612. There aren't many other superzooms in this price range, though for slightly more money you could try Sony's 6-megapixel Cyber Shot DSC-H2 or Canon's 5-megapixel PowerShot S2 IS, both of which offer optical image stabilization, which this Kodak sorely lacks."
