Kodak Z612 Digital Camera Review
The popular Kodak EasyShare Z612 has been reviewed Steve’s Digicams who give the camera a thumbs up for its overall functionality, its versatility, its ergonomics and both its displays (LCD, EVF). However the images were a little blurry when a longer zoom was employed and the Red-eye was also visible in some shots.
The Kodak EasyShare Z612 has features like 2x zoom with optical image stabilization, a 6.1 effective MP CCD, a 2.5-inch LCD with 230,000 pixels and direct printing capabilities. It sports a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon lens stabilized 12x zoom lens with an electronic viewfinder has modes like auto mode, preset scenes and a full manual mode in addition to shutter and aperture priority modes. It also has a feature to record videos in formats like MPEG-4 QuickTime and the 2.5 inch LCD provides resolution of 230,000 pixels. The Z612 also has a built in flash with settings like auto flash, fill, red-eye, and off and the flash can be set up +/-1.0 in 0.5 steps. Scene Modes include Portrait, Landscape, Night Landscape, Self-Portrait, Flower, Sunset, Backlight, Candlelight, Manner/Museum, Text, Beach, Snow, Fireworks and Children modes
The review conlcudes "Bottom line - Kodak has created yet another awesome digital package. With an affordable price of only US$399, it offers an outstanding value for a 6-megapixel super-zoom model. With great image quality, speedy performance, Image Stabilization, and loads of useful exposure modes, the Z612 is sure to be a very popular model this year."
