Review: Kodak V610 Camera
Den Guru has reviewed the Kodak EasyShare V610 and likes it for its dual lens capabilities, its compact size and the onboard 10X optical zoom. However they found the camera over priced and noticed shutter lag and average performance in the panorama mode.
The Kodak V610 is the is incredibly small and has dimensions like 4.4 x 2.2 x 0.9 inches and is just less than an inch thick and is the world’s smallest camera ever with a 10x optical zoom. It includes two SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH C-VARIOGON all-glass; non-protruding prism lenses and uses KODAK RETINA Dual Lens technology. The V610 is a 6 mega-pixel camera and includes a 2.8 in. (7.1 cm) high resolution (230K pixels) LCD screen. The onboard video mode is able to record VGA (640 × 480 pixels) at 30 fps, VGA long at 30 fps and QVGA (320 × 240 pixels) at 30 fps. One great feature is the onboard Bluetooth wireless technology which will make sharing and printing images a breeze. Some other features found on the digicam include Color modes like high color, natural color, low color, sepia, black and white, White balance settings, 4X advanced digital zoom, total zoom range 40X and a number of Scene Modes like auto, portrait, panorama left-right, panorama right-left, sport, landscape, close-up, night portrait, night etc.
They conclude "Overall, the Kodak EasyShare V 610 delivers on its promise of being the smallest 10X optical camera on the market. Indeed, the 10X zoom worked well. But unless you need the 10X optical zoom in a shirt-pocket size, the list price of $449 is a hefty price to pay for a 6 Megapixel camera."
