Leica’s gold-plated camera’s celebrate People’s Republic’s 60th Anniversary
Camera company Leica has decided to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China with a gold-plated camera.
This will have a limited run of 60, and it will be encased in red calfskin and even put in a wooden box. It will have a Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4 lens, and will bear an inscription of Mao Zedong’s favorite slogan.
The price on these golden cameras is, of course, quite high at $29,300. Leica is also planning on bringing out limited editions of M8.2 and D-Lux 4 models, without the gold plating.
