Leica D 14-50 mm F2.8-F3.5 Lens

leica-d-vario-elmarit-14-50.jpgThe Leica D 14-50 mm F2.8-F3.5 is the world’s first Leica digital specific lens with MEGA O.I.S. and was initially sold only with the Panasonic DMC-L1. The new lens complies with the Four Thirds standard and is equipped with advanced MEGA O.I.S. which according to Leica “an optical image stabilization system that provides outstanding hand-shake correction.

The standard zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 28-100mm) is made of 16 lens elements in 12 groups and also sports Panasonic’s Venus Engine PLUS LSI into the lens. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 29mm and lens has an aperture ring as well as a focus ring on the lens itself. This one too like all Leica D Vario lenses has a multiple lens coating which help in reducing ghosting as well as flaring.
