Nikon AF-S MICRO NIKKOR 60MM F/2.8G ED LENS
AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60 mm f/2.8G ED is the latest lens launched by Nikon, the world leader in digital imaging technology. Perfect for extreme close-up photography and general imaging, this lens is capable of focusing at a distance of 0.185 m at its closest.
Designed for the use with Nikon's digital and 35 mm SLR systems, AF-S micro ED lens comes packed with a series of advanced features like Nano Crystal Coat, Extra Low Dispersion (ED) glass, Internal Focusing (IF) design and Nikon's Silent Wave Motor technology (SWM).
“Nikon is proud of its strong reputation for designing and producing some of the world's finest close-up lenses, delivering faithful and consistent color reproduction, stunning sharpness and beautifully balanced contrast,” said Edward Fasano, general manager for marketing, SLR Systems Products at Nikon, Inc. “Serious close-up photographers are naturally demanding, and we are confident that these discerning customers will be excited about the performance of the new 60mm f/2.8G ED Micro NIKKOR."
Its Internal Focusing (IF) eliminated any possibility of rotation of the front lens element, thereby making it convenient to use rotating polarizing filters and Nikon Wireless Close-up Speedlight System. AF-S Micro NIKKOR 60 mm f/2.8G ED lens used the SWM technology to ensure a fast, quiet and accurate autofocus performance.
Its additional ED glass element helps in minimizing chromatic aberration, so as to allow the lens to deliver high-contrast images. Its exclusive Nano Crystal Coat and Super Integrated Coating generate superior color and reduce ghosting and flaring. This new lens from Nikon will be available in the market from March 2008 onwards at an approximate selling price of $549.95.
