Pentex imaging company has recently announced the launch of new smc PENTAX DA 17-70mm f/4 AL [IF] SDM Lens exclusively for Pentex Digital SLR Cameras. This standard lens coupled with extra zoom capability, is touted as the most appropriate lens for variety of shots such as snapshot and scenery.

The Pentax DA 17-70 mm lens comes with Pentax Super Protect coating to protect exposed lens components. It is also supported with quick shift system for a rapid change from auto to manual mode on a turn of the focus ring. With two good quality asphericals, Pentex 17-70mm provides outstanding image clarity and maximum aperture of f/4 while zooming allows higher shutter speed, thereby reducing camera shakes.
