Lexmark Canada Unveils New Special Edition Environmental Printers

Lexmark is a dark horse brand in the world of printers and it looks like they have a new model coming out before Earth Day. In fact, it is christened as an environmental printer. The printer set to be released by Lexmark is the X4650 Environmental Edition Wireless all-in-one printer, which will be available exclusively at Wal-Mart for $69 starting in April.
For every X4650 Environmental Edition Wireless printer sold, the Arbor Day Foundation will plant a tree. And the fact that this all-in-one printer (print, scan, copy) has built-in Wi-Fi reduces electronic waste because it can connect multiple computers at home to one printer. This printer is also energy star certified, which reduces power consumption by 33% when in sleep mode.
Lexmark Canada also offers free recycling for its ink cartridges. Customers place used Lexmark ink cartridges in a prepaid postage bag and send it to Lexmark for recycling. As well, the X4650’s packaging is comprised of corrugate made from 100% recycled product and is 100% recyclable.
The X4650 prints up to 25 pages per minute (ppm) for black and 18 ppm for color with superior quality printing of up to 4800 X 1200 dpi. PrecisionSense technology detects the type of paper being used to determine print resolution automatically. It has 1-touch, PC-free copying (color or black) capability and the unit’s flatbed scanner easily handles thick books and reports.
