Making The Most of Your Digital Camera
Do you understand the settings on your point and shoot digital camera? Chances are you don’t and don’t really want to, but understanding just a few basic settings can help you take better photos with relatively little addition fuss. For instance, most simple point and shoot digitals allow you to choose scene mode. The scene mode lets you tell the camera what type of photo you are about to shoot and the camera will adjust itself to that condition automatically.
This can make a big difference in the quality of the image you get. For instance, if you are shooting a sports scene, choosing that scene mode will automatically create a faster shutter speed for the shot to compensate for bodies in motion, giving you less blur and distortion in your photograph. Another useful setting is the ISO, which allows you to take better photos by adjusting to the actual light conditions. Choosing a higher ISO will let you take clearer photographs in low light conditions and vice versa for well-lit conditions.
