Microsoft Wayve
One of Microsoft’s Research teams is developing a new device called “Wayve”. It resembles a digital photo frame, however a touchscreen feature allows you to write messages on “sticky notes” for friends and family to see, sort of like a smaller, more graphical, version of Twitter. Apart from writing or drawing silly images, users will be able to punch in notes via an onscreen keyboard or have the software attempt to convert their handwriting into text. A stylus is included although the technology will work with your fingers too. Once you’ve created your masterpieces you’ll be able to send it to anyone who’s got a mobile phone.
If you are not good at drawing, you will be able to take pictures with the built-in camera, unfortunately the current device doesn’t support video to let you make video messages. A spokesperson working on this device says to not rule out this possibility of video calls in the future. No word on a release date or the cost.
