Microsoft’s Mobicast can splice together cellular phone footage

Microsoft Labs has created some interesting software for those who like to film video footage from their cellular phone. Granted, I used my cellular phone’s video camera sparingly, only if I don’t have anything else to film with.

Mobicast is software that can somehow combine footage from several different cellular phones and merge it into one continuous scene. I have a video of it after the jump if you want to see this technology in action, but the end result does look slightly patchworked. Apparently, there are a lot of bugs to be worked out on this one, especially “how to tell if several phones are in the same vicinity filming the same scene.”
