Waterproof cameras are coming out one after the other and the latest one to announce such innovation is Minox. The Minox DC 8022 WP digital camera comes with an 8-megapixel CCD sensor that provides the resolution for pin-sharp images, rich in detail.

The multi-coated MINOCTAR lens, which delivers neutral color rendition, has a 38mm fixed focal length (in 35mm format terms).The auto focus lens has 3X optical, interior zoom and the macro function provides flexibility when framing the subject, in or out of the water. No exterior zoom element to admit water. A special panorama mode lets you easily combine several shots into one big 360-degree image.

Compact (3-3/4×2-3/8×7/8 inches) and lightweight (just 5.57 oz.), the DC 8022 takes up very little space, whether it’s in your luggage, your backpack or your pocket on the job. You can take your shot underwater, and view the result too, on the 2-1/2” TFT color monitor.

An integrated electronic flash unit automatically illuminates the scene, or can be eliminated if you want. There are 24 exposure programs to choose from, including sports, nighttime, underwater and portraits.

The Smile Detector feature scans faces for the best smile, then shoots! In the Coupling Mode, you can can merge two images into one. An electronic stabilizer reduces camera shake.

It takes an SD memory card up to 8 gigabytes, and has its own 32-megabyte internal memory. It’s powered by a Lithium-Ion battery and comes with an AC adapter.
