Today, the Japanese company known as Morpho unveiled a new product called Morpho Smart Select. It’s special image software designed to automatically find the best picture in the photo library of a digital camera. This software makes its selection based on a variety of factors which include color contrast, position of the image’s subject, a person’s smile and the focus of the image.

Furthermore, Morpho Smart Select will assess the quality of a person’s smile by examining the corners of their eyes and mouth from their angles. Then the selection itself is the result of information collected by the company from surveys they conducted with real people, which is part of the software.

Morpho Smart Select also allows the user to modify the image selection through seven evaluation modes featured in the program, including options like “pet mode” and “portrait mode”. According to Morpho, the software is unique because it’s fast without the need for a lot of processing power and camera phones only require 100 ms in order to use the program. The company also finalized several agreements with mobile phone manufacturers to put handsets with Morpho Smart Select pre-installed on sale this summer.
