National Instruments extended its NI Smart Camera product line with the launch of smart cameras NI 1744, NI 1762 and NI 1764. The camera with DSP Coprocessors and high image resolution is a boon for engineers working on embedded machine vision solution.

The 1.3 megapixel cameras with high resolution image sensor examine small defects and benefits the machine builders and industrial engineers. The NI1762 camera with code reading and optical character recognition feature 533 MHz PowerPC and 720 MHz Texas Instruments DSP coprocessor and 640×480 resolution image sensor. The NI 1764 Smart Camera are used in high-speed manufacturing line applications.

One can easily configure and deploy the entire machine vision application using NI Vision Builder for Automated Inspection. The camera features state diagram editor and NI LabVIEW software for more advanced applications. The company has not disclosed the price of any of the cameras yet.
