It is fascinating how camera phones can do away with the need to carry a separate digital camera when the need to take pictures arises. However, not all camera phones have the capacity to deliver quality image capture. One thing that most phones lack is that of flash. However, with this new flash driver, all that may change.

On Semiconductor releases a new flash module called the NCP5680 supercapacitor-optimized LED flash driver. The driver is capable of delivering 10 amperes for photoflash and video light in camera phones and digital cameras that lack in proper lighting for taken shots.

The integrated driver can also handle increased power needs for other functions of the phone like zoom, video, GPS and more. The device is available in a 3.5mm x 3.5mm x 0.55mm package and is priced at $1.10 per unit in 3,000 unit quantities.
