This may not necessarily be among the new and high-tech cameras we see in the market today but as an aspiring neophyte in the world of digital photography, I initially thought that this camera was a beginner’s DSLR camera. Looking through the ads of used cameras (which is economical and a habit I got myself into for savings) I found this one being sold for around $200 more or less.

And so after a little research, the Nikon Coolpix 5700 was nothing more than a semi-DSLR camera meaning you are just buying an overrated camera with the DSLR looks. Darn! With only 5 megapixels, it delivers images of 2560 x 1,920. It also has an electronic viewfinder for better framing accuracy with long zoom lens.

The specs seem good and thanks to the review on this page, it may not be bad to get if I needed a camera. But right now, I think it would be best to hold off the buying part since I already bought a new digital camera with the Sony Cybershot DSC-W220, a 12.1 megapixel camera loaded with features. But it still isn’t that dream DSLR camera I have been longing to have!
