Nikon Coolpix L100 Camera Review–This One Seemed Familiar

Okay, when I first came in contact with the Nikon Coolpix L100, I was sure that I’d seen it before.  And I tried it out, like normal, and I understood why.  Because it behaved a lot like other Nikons that I’d already seen before.  it LOOKED like a lot of Nikons I’d seen before.  The model number was even similar.  But this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a bad camera.

The Nikon Coolpix L100 is a ten megapixel digital camera with an amazing 15x optical zoom (most cameras I see come with something around three to five).  It’s compatible with SD and SDHD memory cards, plus it offers the Smart Portrait System; red eye fix, Face Priority AE and more.

There are a lot of great features in this camera, and it takes a good picture, too–its incredibly long zoom range gives it excellent versatility at nearly any angle, and considering you can pay as little as two hundred bucks for a used model on Amazon, you’re getting a pretty fantastic value here.

  2. The Nikon L100 I just received appears to be just what I wanted - compact, easy to use, and I’m sure it will take beautiful pictures. Amazon has displayed other items designed to work with this camera. Beware, however, of the Transcend flash memory cards — they do NOT work with the Coolpix L100 camera. The Nikon website and user’s manual both state that there are only 4 “approved memory cards” for this model - SanDisk, Toshiba, Panasonic and Lexar. When you insert the Transcend card, the camera displays the statement “card does not work in this camera”.
