Nikon Coolpix S203 Camera Review–A Bit Too Small But Otherwise Good
Generally, Nikon cameras don’t give me a whole lot of trouble, and in fact, about the only time I really remember having much of a problem at ALL with Nikon hardware is when they get cute and try to shrink their cameras down to unnecessarily small sizes and by doing so confound me with tiny buttons.
This is one of those times.
The Nikon Coolpix S203 is a ten megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom (4x digital zoom), forty four megs of onboard memory, D-Lighting, self timer, best shot selector, blink detection, vibration reduction technology, motion detection, auto scene selector, and a variety of playback and still shot modes.
Like I said, I usually wind up approving wholeheartedly when it comes to Nikon gear, excpet for when it gets a bit too small. I disapprove wholeheartedly of the tiny controls, but aside from that, there’s not much bad to say about this. Especially given that it retails for a hundred and twenty bucks. So if you just need a camera to take pictures or maybe occasional low-end video clips, then the Nikon Coolpix (in three different colors, too, so that argument’s shot, at least here) is a pretty solid selection.
