Attention Amazon shoppers, the new Nikon Coolpix S8000 is now taking preorders!

We talked about the Nikon Coolpix S8000 out here not too long ago, and it definitely looks like a pretty sweet camera.  Frankly, it should, considering that Nikon’s going to be asking three hundred bucks for them, but it looks like you won’t be too disappointed value wise.

The Nikon Coolpix S8000 is a fourteen megapixel camera with a three inch LCD screen, onboard storage sufficient for an hour and a half of 720p video, image stabilization systems and loads more.

It’s not too hard to suggest, at this point, that the Nikon Coolpix S8000 will be a good value.  Oh, sure, I haven’t actually got my hands on one of these yet–hint hint, Nikon!–but the price isn’t out of line considering what all you’ll get on this.  It’ll remain to be seen how easy it is to use and how the range works, but by all early indications, this will be a good camera.  So place your preorders now, if you’re in the market.
