Nikon D3000 Camera Review–Looks Like More Than It Is

Sometimes, some cameras are just a whole lot of camera.  Way too much camera, in fact, for the average person or the beginner. But the Nikon D3000 isn’t one of those–it just looks like it.

The Nikon D3000 is a ten megapixel camera with EXPEED image processing, a three inch LCD screen, compatibility with SD and SDHC memory cards, a 3x 18-55mm Zoom-Nikkor VR Image Stabilization lens.

In fact, there isn’t a whole lot to this camera at all.  There are better cameras to be had at lower prices, with better resolutions and longer zooms and pretty much everything else.  That’s why I’m especially unsettled to note that this particular camera weighs in at a whopping five hundred fifty bucks retail.

I’m having a fairly tough time seeing, or appreciating, why this enormous bulky monster should cost this kind of money when there are smaller, slimmer and more functional pieces out there.  Well, to each their own, I suppose–I say most of us can do better.
