Nikon D5000 Camera Review–More!
I know, a strange way to lead into a camera review. Just one word and all, but it actually sums up the Nikon D5000 nicely. It’s MORE. It’s a lot more, in fact, than its nearest predecessor, the Nikon D3000.
The Nikon D5000 is a twelve megapixel camera with 720p video record capability, a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, nineteen different scene modes, and, in what may be one of the strangest things I’ve seen on a camera lately, geotagging capability.
Geotagging, in case you don’t already know, is the process by which the geographic location of the photographs you take is added to the picture itself.
I’m frankly amazed by this concept, and it’s just one more interesting thing added to the already feature-laden Nikon D5000. If you thought the Nikon D3000 was an impenetrable maze of mechanical horror, then rest assured, this thing is the equivalent of a Lovecraft short story for you.
And it should be, frankly–this thing can be had used for about five hundred and ninety bucks on Amazon, so the retail value is plenty more. But if you’re willing to shell out that kind of cash for a camera, then chances are you need every ounce of features this thing can muster.
