Nikon L22 Camera Review–Compact And Cheap

Nikon is one of those long-term brands that has brought a lot of fantastic hardware to the table, and has often done so at a decent price.  This isn’t always the case, but you’ll find that the Nikon L22, today’s review target, will do a nice job on every front.

The Nikon L22 is a twelve megapixel camera that offers a 3.6x optical zoom with a 4x digital zoom to augment it, a three inch LCD display, electronic image stabilization, motion detection technology (which isn’t something I often hear about in a camera), a variety of scene and white balance modes, burst shooting mode, center autofocus, a set of special effects, nineteen megs of onboard memory, a USB port, and direct printing.

This one comes with some pretty unusual bells and whistles–this may well be the first time that I’ve seen motion detection and a 3.6x zoom in a digital camera.  I know I’ve heard 3.3, but not 3.6.  But the key thing here is that the resolution is at least pretty good; not as high as some I’ve seen but twelve is about standard.  The controls are also fairly functional and shouldn’t be terribly difficult to master for anyone who’s actually worked with a digital camera a time or two before.  It’s a little small and slim, though, so bear that in mind if you’ve got larger fingers.

But here’s the good part–the Nikon L22 can be yours for just a hundred and seventeen bucks out at Best Buy.  They’re running a sale through their web site.  So if your budget is a little slim but you’re needing a new camera, then this Nikon is definitely one to add to your list of considerations.
