A Review: Nikon D80 DSLR

d80_front_view.jpgThe Nikon D80, one of the most talked about DSLR camera has been reviewed by Hardware Zone and let’s see what they have to say. The DSLR scores for its price/feature ratio, its menu system, the onboard unique dual dials and it’s RAW and image performance. However they think that it’s not as fantastic as the Sony Alpha.

The Nikon D80 features a new 10.2 effective megapixel DX Format CCD image sensor, which promises extremely detailed and striking images. This DSLR also has a SD Slot something which will no doubt go well with the consumers. Nikon has also incorporated a proprietary high-resolution image processing engine, color independent analog pre-conditioning and high-precision 12-bit digital image processing algorithms. The Nikon D80 includes Nikon F lens mount, 3D Color Matrix Metering II, 11 area autofocus, 0.18 second bootup, 80ms shot response, -Lighting, Red-eye correction, Image overlay ,Monochrome settings (Black-and-white, Sepia, Cyanotype) and Filter Effect.

Hardware Zone concludes "For those of you willing to wait out no matter the availability concerns, the D80 will put a smile on your face when you lay your hands on it. With the D80, Nikon offers a complete DSLR lineup where there's something for almost every segment and price category, with this excellent newcomer taking a favorable spot between the low and midrange DSLR categories of the D70s and the D200. The D80 is definitely the best Nikon camera yet for its entry-level class and is strongly recommended for beginners migrating to the DSLR scene."
