I was just recently looking over a whole slew of digital photo frames, having come to the realization that I haven’t talked about photo frames here in a long time, and I realized that there were plenty of these to look at, so it’s probably a good idea to discuss some.

Today we’re talking about the NuVue U-40176 Digital Frame, a 320 x 234 resolution LCD picture frame with a 5.6″ LCD screen, support for video and picture formats, support for several different memory card formats (including USB) and on-board stereo speakers.

Before I seque into my comments, let me just say one thing–this thing retails for about fifty bucks.  You can buy it through BestBuy.com for THIRTY.  You’re not going to get a 1080p LCD screen here, and if you’re expecting one you’re sorely out of luck.  That having been said, the NuVue U-40176 is a serviceable and fairly easy to use picture frame that’ll do a decent job of holding and displaying your digital pictures.  Keep your expectations low here and you’ll come out all right.
