OKI Printers Investing in LED Print Heads
OKI printers plans to add another product line to its fold as they are preparing for the production of its light-emitting diode (LED) for its print heads of non-impact printers. OKI aims to further enhance its non-impact printer business in addition to developing new businesses using LED technology. This investment is the first step in OKI’s new growth strategy, through which it plans to accelerate new business developments.
“OKI has been revamping its business structure and we now focus on two business areas: ‘Info-telecom converged business’ and ‘mechatronics business,’ which is represented by ATMs and printers. We have been shifting resources and creating strong technologies and solutions to achieve robust business growth,” said Hideichi Kawasaki, President at OKI Electric Industry.
The technology is being used at the moment for its commercial service. But with the transition for individuals looking at technology and enhancements in printing technology, OKI wants to escalate it to a full-blown technology which can only make most business and individuals look forward to the future of printing solutions they can get their hands on.
