We have two tough devices from Olympus. Whenever you’re living life on the edge you might need one of those tough cameras to record it. These are the µ Tough-8000 and 6000.
So let’s take a brief look at each of them. The Tough-800 is a 12 megapixel camera which can go underwater up to 10m, it can fall for up to 2m, it can withstand up to 100kg and it will work even at -10°C. It has a 2.7 inch HyperCrystal III LCD, a 3.6x wide optical zoom, Dual Image Stabilization, TAP Control Menu, Face Detection, LED Backligt and VGA recording at 30fps.
The Touch-6000 will get you a 10 megapixels sensors which will only go 3m deep, fall from 1.5m and work at -10°C. And don’t even think about dropping 100kg on it. It won’t survive it. Everything else we’ve told you about the 8000 comes in the 6000 version too.
We have no pricing details and arrival dates but we’ll let you know when these babies will be available.
