Olympus’ Anti-Dust Filter Wins An Award
Recently, Olympus won an award at the National Inventions Awards 2010 show in Japan for its special, anti-dust filter known as the SuperSonic Wave Filter (SSWF). This filter is actually built into all of the interchangeable-lens digital cameras for Olympus’ product line. This includes their Micro Four Thirds models and DSLRs as well.
But apparently, the Olympus E-1 camera, (shown in the photo on the right) which was released in 2003 already had this anti-dust technology included in its design and yet recognition for it is given now in 2010. That does raise questions about the timing of this award that Olympus is about to receive. Nonetheless, the official award ceremony is set to take place at Hotel Okura, Tokyo, on July 30.
