Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma Work Together For Once
Although clear competitors, Olympus, Panasonic and Sigma have worked together to launch an online firmware update for Four Thirds compliant DSLR lenses. The system will allow owners to update their optics even if the camera is made by a different manufacturer. Usually, a DSLR camera body and Four Thirds lens had to be from the same company in order for firmware updates to work.
With this new system in place it’s possible for cameras and lenses from Panasonic and Olympus to be used interchangeably. That is quite convenient! Will we see other big DSLR names join the fun?
