Olympus Says 12 Megapixels Is Enough

Looks like Olympus has finally realized how many megapixels the average Joe needs. And the number is 12. Olympus exec Akira Watanabe said that 12 megapixels is “enough for covering most applications most customers need.” Ok, so what’s next? Well Olympus has absolutely “no intention to compete in the megapixel wars for E-System” but it will focus on other features: dynamic range, color reproduction or better ISO range for low-light shooting. Was Watanabe referring only to Olympus’ DSLR line or should we assume that 12 megapixels is simply enough for any Olympus future camera?
