Olympus Stylus 550WP Camera Review–Not The Best Value

Olympus‘ camera line is generally solid, with a very few exceptions, even if a lot of their models, much like a Robert Plant video, all seem vaguely similar.  But Olympus‘ Stylus 550WP will prove to be a solid camera, if a bit too expensive for what you get.

First, there IS a color choice here, but the camera itself really isn’t that terrible.  It’s a ten megapixel camera with a 3x optical zoom and face detection, in-camera picture editing options like Perfect Fix, and interestingly enough, it’s also waterproof to a depth of ten feet.

I don’t usually get to talk about the water resistance factor of a camera, so it’s definitely cool to be able to do just that.  But the Olympus Stylus 550WP is a pretty fair camera.  In fact, it behaves a lot like the earlier Olympus models I’ve talked about.

But considering you’ve got to shell out about a hundred and eighty bucks for one of these (if you buy on Amazon it’s only a hundred and thirty one), it’s not exactly the best camera you could get.  You can do much better for the money.
