Olympus Tough 8010 Camera Review–Tough Camera, Easy Sell
When a camera comes with the word “tough” right in its name, I can’t help but sit up and take notice. I mean, come on! It’s TOUGH! But is there anything more to it than its durability–its toughness, if you will? You’ll find out today there is actually quite a bit, with the Olympus Tough 8010, which is what we’ll be talking about today.
The Olympus Tough 8010 is a fourteen megapixel camera with 5x optical zoom and an augmenting 5x digital zoom, 2.7 inch HyperCrystal III LCD monitor, TruePic III image processor, dual image stabilization for maximum stability even in shaky conditions, face detection systems, fully nineteen scene modes and several white balance modes, auto flash, 1.58 gigs of onboard memory with Secure Digital memory card capability, and a USB port.
It is a bit of a surprise to see there’s no editing software included with this, but it makes up for the lack by a sheer superabundance of other features and onboard systems. The controls are smooth and easy to operate and the picture quality is pretty nice, given that it’s a fourteen megapixel camera. It is a little on the pricey side at three hundred seventy bucks, but for what you get, that’s pretty nice.
The Olympus Tough 8010 is a powerful package, and despite it being a little on the high side price wise, will provide a powerful bargain as well.
