Olympus unveiled its new digital camera, the 7.1 megapixel Olympus FE-230 which promises to be an amalgamation of style, functionality and affordability. The Olympus FE-230 is just 6.5mm thin and has been equipped with a 3x optical zoom (equiv. to 38-114mm on a 35mm model) lens and a 2.5 inch LCD.

The FE-230 has the TruePic TURBO image processor which is known to enhance the overall performance of the camera. The camera also has the “one button, one function” design principle,making operation hassle free and extremely intuitive. A mode dial lets one access eight different shooting programs, which include High ISO Setting mode with ISO 1250, Super Macro and Movie recording with sound. One also comes across 18 preset scene modes.

The digicam has a xD-Picture Card slot and one also comes across a Super Macro mode from 5cm.Expect to see the ultra-slim FE-230 in stores from February 2007, with an estimated High Street price of just £150.00 The Olympus FE-23.
