Optic Image Stabilization may come to cell phone cameras, thanks to Varioptic
A lot of digital cameras come with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), so shouldn’t camera phones come with the same thing? This is exactly what Varioptic is planning on doing, as it has announced OIS to cell phones with the development of the first liquid lens, the A316S.
The A316S can fit into a typical AF camera module, uses limited power, and has no moving parts. Varioptic is planning on releasing this tech into camera phones in early 2011, which could change the cell phone camera as we know it. Just image non-blurry cell phone pictures and you can see how.
