Fujitsu Ltd, recently introduced FTP-637MCL601 a 3-inch thermal printer device with an incorporated auto-cutter which is said to be 50% faster and has two times the operational life of its previous model, the FTP-637MCL401. This is specifically designed for fast print-generating function like Point Of Sale terminals, medical and test apparatus, and instrumentation. The new printer measures about 21.8mm (H) x 104.5mm (W) x 42.2mm (D). Furthermore, the printer has a working temperature vary of 0 to +50 degrees C and a platen life of 5,000 open/close cycles. Additionally, the FTP-637MCL601 printer employs a separable platen/cutter that make possible blending into a clamshell design for drop-in paper loading. The printer is capable of handling paper stock from 60-100 micrometers-thick and can also print a range of text, explicit characters, international fonts, and 2-D barcodes.
