Vimicro VC0706 ePTZ Surveillance Camera

Vimicro International Corporation introduced their new VC0706 ePTZ (Electronic Pan/Tilt/Zoom) surveillance camera. Integrating the newly released VC0706 digital video processing SoC (System on Chip) and Aptina's 5-megapixel CCD image sensor (MT9P031) the camera gives unbelievable results. It captures superb stills and continuous video at 15 fps in full resolution or 60 fps at 720P HD resolution.
''VC0706 is our latest generation of surveillance camera SoC, building on the success of VC0702 and VC0703 that have been widely adopted in the surveillance market. Together with Aptina Imaging, we developed the VC0706 based ePTZ solution to satisfy customers' need for lower power consumption, smaller size and easy maintenance of surveillance cameras,'' said Dr. Mike Yu, Vice President and General Manager of Vimicro's Advanced Multimedia Product Unit.
The surveillance camera offers high 256X digital zoom, embedded OSD image overlay function, Auto White Balance (AWB), Auto Exposure (AE), temporal noise reduction and automatic enhancement of video under low-light environment. VC0706 includes a JPEG codec and a motion detection engine for convenient video transferring and storage. Its CCIR 656 interface renders output to an external host such as a TV display through embedded TV encoder and DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter).Utilizing its high speed UART or SPI interface, users can configure it through an external host.
