Panasonic Firmware Will Not Let You Use Third Party Camera Batteries

You’ve been warned folks! In case you’re using third party camera batteries then you should definitely not upgrade your camera firmware. Panasonic has just included an authentication scheme that will render your third party camera battery useless.
Panasonic has made the change for safety reasons. Using third-party batteries might result in your camera exploding and nobody wants that. But if you want to still have the possibility of choosing what batteries to use then you shouldn’t upgrade your firmware right away. However, if you decide to go with Panasonic only batteries then by all means, get the new software on your camera!
