Panasonic FP2 Camera Review–Tough To Work With, Otherwise Great
We’ve got a Panasonic to check out today; it’s been my experience so far that Panasonic can really put out a terrific camera, and we’ve got one that might be a competitor (if you’re willing to put up with some minor troubles) for most any kind out there–the Panasonic FP2.
The Panasonic FP2 is a fourteen megapixel camera with a 4x optical zoom and augmenting 4x digital zoom. It also offers a 2.7 inch LCD monitor, optical image stabilization, a variety of scene and white balance modes, nine point autofocus, burst shooting mode, built-in auto flash, HD movie shooting capability, forty megs of onboard memory with support for the Secure Digital line of memory card, USB port, direct printing, and editing software.
This one’s actually tough to recommend or discommend either way, because it seems like for every plus on this thing, there’s a substantial minus. There are plenty of features here for such a small camera, and indeed, it’s such a small camera. I had a really rough time working the controls on this one, and when you have a hard time making a camera work, it really doesn’t matter how good it is.
But if you’re willing to put up with some difficulty in the ease of use category, what you’re going to get is a fantastically full-featured camera at a bargain price–just a hundred and sixty bucks out at Best Buy. I wouldn’t personally recommend the Panasonic FP2, but you might get along well with it.
