Panasonic SDR H80K Camcorder Review–Lots To Love Here
Granted, the name sounds a little ominous. The last time I saw “HK” together was in the Terminator series, describing those really big rolling death platforms. But you can rest assured that the Panasonic SDR H80K will not try and exterminate you and the rest of humanity, but will instead do a fantastic job of recording your favorite memories.
The Panasonic SDR H80 SD is a camcorder with 70x optical zoom, advanced OIS to correct hand shake while shooting using–get this–gyrosensors. It also includes the Pure Color Engine, a function that softens focus on skin tones called Soft Skin Mode, intelligent auto focusing technology, a sixty gig hard drive, face detection, joystick control, a help mode to explain functions on screen, and a surprisingly easy DVD burning system.
I got a great range with this one for small print, being able to make out surprisingly small print at a distance of about sixty feet. Between the relative ease of the controls and the included help mode, this might be a great starter camcorder, if it weren’t for the fact that it costs four hundred bucks.
It’s not that this isn’t a nice piece, it’s that it may not necessarily be worth quite that much. But that’s your call, and if you can afford the asking price you should be happy with the Panasonic SDR H80K.
