Panasonic VDRD50 Camcorder Review–A Fantastic Camera

Again Panasonic decides to not disappoint me so much as even a tiny bit by handing up the Panasonic VDRD50 for consideration.  This is a fantastic camcorder that I’m glad to have the chance to talk about.

The Panasonic VDRD50 shoots images directly onto writable DVD, and comes with Optical Image Stabilization, a 42x optical zoom and AV, analog and USB outputs.

The zoom function is fantastically smooth and can read small print from over ten feet away.  The control scheme is intuitive and well laid out with most functions easily controllable and accessible.  I had a very easy time figuring out where things were on this camera, and considering the time I’ve had with some of these out of the box, that elevates the sheer respect I have for the Panasonic VDRD50 by a whole bunch.

This is a smooth and easy to use camera that should handle just about every need you could have in a camcorder–though if you do a lot of YouTube work you may not be too happy by having to use SD cards or copying off DVD.  But for around three hundred bucks, depending on where you shop, you could do a whole lot worse.
