Panasonic Will Buy Sanyo

We heard what Panasonic wanted for Christmas and Santa must have heard it too. As Santa is a very good, but rather old person, he has granted Panasonic’s wish.

Panasonic will purchase about 70% of Sanyo’s share for $1.50 per share in February. That’s a $6.4 billion deal if you were doing the math, and it’s the largest deal in Japan’s history so far. Goldman Sachs and Sanyo are the major sellers here and they have finally agreed to sell their stock.

What good will come out of this? Well the future biggest corporation in Japan will surely be launching lots of interesting products, wouldn’t you say? Let’s hope new, innovative cameras, camcorders and accessories will be released soon.
