Panasonic DMC LX2 Digicam Review

lumix-lx2-thumb.jpgThe fairly new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 Digital Camera has been reviewed by the Digital Camera Review and lets see what the experts have to say. The camera was given a thumbs up for its elegant and sleek for factor, its user-friendly and fast interface, its bright LCD , its overall image quality, its O.I.S. and its RAW Mode. However the digicam lacked a viewfinder, produced noisy images at high ISOs, suffered from softness at default settings and lacked an USB 2.0. High Speed Support.

Panasonic DMC-LX2 Digital Camera sports a 10.1-megapixel high resolution CCD image sensor, however this one comes in a much sleeker package. The DMC-LX2 also includes the world’s first* Intelligent ISO Control and max with ISO settings up to 1600. The Lumix DMC features a 2.8-inch TFT LCD and includes the Panasonic trademark MEGA O.I.S technology which automatically compensates for handshake and low light conditions. We are also impressed by its f/2.8 4x optical zoom 28mm wide angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT lens which can deliver high image resolutions of 4224 x 2376 pixels on the 16:9 aspect ratio. One can also choose between 4:3, 3:2 or 16:9 of aspect ratio depending on ones purpose of use.

In the end ther review writes "In the final analysis the only thing that really matters (when considering a camera purchase) is image quality and in that department the LX2 delivers, consistently and dependably. Potential purchasers who shoot lots of panoramas and don’t mind slaving over a hot computer (and heavily utilizing Adobe PhotoShop and the post-exposure noise reduction software of their choice) will love the LX2.
