Introduced last year, Panasonic announced that it will start shipping the new Panasonic AG-HMC70 professional shoulder mount camcorder on April 2008. The Panasonic AG-HMC70 was designed for the professional videographers, to be able to deliver full high-definition videos taped on an SD card. It uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 compression as well as AVCHD High Profile video codec, which has the same quality to HDV 1080i but uses half of the bandwidth. The AG-HMC70 is equipped with 12X 38.5mm to 462mm Leica Dicomar wide-angle zoom lens with Op[tical Image Stabilization and one-push Auto Focus. It will sell for its MSRP of US$2,495.
