Pentax announced the K-7 mid-level DSLR camera at the end of May. Based around an updated version of the Pentax/Samsung 14.6 MP CMOS sensor, the Pentax K-7 is ready for shipping and can be obtained via online retailer Amazon.

The K-7 is a high-end model of the Pentax K digital SLR camera series. It is a 14.6-megapixel camera that comes with the ability to capture HD videos in 720p. The camera comes equipped with a microphone jack for external input. In addition, the camera sports dust and temperature resistant magnesium alloy body. The 3-inch LCD display of the camera not only allows users to review the capture videos and images but also lets them frame shots via a Live View feature.

The K-7 camera has an integrated High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode function to create one composite image with an extra-wide gradation range from three images with different exposures. As promised, the camera is priced at $1,300.
