The Pentax K2000 is an entry-level, compact digital SLR camera that comes bundled with a Pentax DA-L 18-55mm lens and an AF200FG flash unit, all for under US$700—not a bad price point for an entry-level SLR camera that does as much as this one. The Pentax K2000 features a 10.2-megapixel sensor, in-body image stabilization, ISO range from 100-3200, 5-point AF system, and a surprisingly large 2.7-inch LCD that makes image review a pleasure and a snap. The lens mount is compatible with lots of other Pentax special lenses such as the Pentax K-, KA-, KAF-, KAF2- and KAF3-, so you can upgrade and expand the camera’s capability as your SLR skills increase without completely replacing it.
The K2000 is also compatible with an array of Pentax lenses that feature auto-focus capability. If you are looking to move from a point and shoot up to a first SLR camera, the Pentax 2000 is not a bad way to go
