Looks like new smile shutter technology is taking the world by storm. Pentax has just unveiled its new digital camera, the Optio M50, with smile shutter mode. To be released in the Japanese market, the Optio M50 model takes the picture when all the face on screen are already smiling -- like what other digicams with smile shutter modes do. Optio M50 is a 5-megapixel camera with 5x zoom and 2.5-inch LCD monitor. Optio M50 can recognize up to 15 faces in one screen and supports ISO 6400. Aside from the pink model you see on the pic, silver and light blue colors are also available. Optio M50 will sell for US$280 in Japan.
